The Daintree is situated an easy 2 hour drive north of Cairns and offers spectacular scenery and pristine beaches. There is a variety of accommodation and many locally owned and operated tour companies offering excellent guided rainforest walks, river cruises and wildlife viewing around the area.
From Cairns, take the scenic Captain Cook Highway north; pass through the sugar town of Mossman and cross the Daintree River on the cable ferry. Enjoy this scenic journey as you wind though the oldest tropical rainforest in the world. The distance from Cairns to Cape Tribulation is only 140km, approximately two-and-a-half hours' drive. Cape Tribulation Beach House is located 38km north of the ferry crossing.
Cow Bay is located in The Daintree Rainforest on the North side of the Daintree River. After crossing Alexandra Range turn right at the Daintree Discovery Centre
The small village & region surrounding Mossman is home to the superb Silky Oaks resort and the magical Mossman Gorge. Mossman is located just north of Port Douglas on the way to the Daintree River Ferry
Wonga Beach is located just south of the Daintree River and is host to a long sweeping beach and a number of beach front holiday homes. Wonga beach is 30 minutes drive north of Port Douglas.
